Classis Eastern Canada
The Christian Reformed Church in North America, because of the large geography and number of individual churches, groups congregations in logical geographic areas. Each one of these groups is called a Classis.
Faith Community Church CRC is one of 23 churches stretching from the Ottawa area to the Maritimes, called “Classis Eastern Canada”.
There are two meetings of Classis every year, where three individuals from each church – the Pastor, an Elder, and a Deacon – are invited to meet to discuss regional church business. The Classis Eastern Canada website has the most recent information from these meetings.
Once a year, representatives from each Classis are invited to go to a week long meeting, called Synod, to discuss and address current issues and challenges to the North American wide denomination.
